Heard an add-on board on my wall.?
I was trying to get my image below my wall. Presidents turned and I fell, my elbow against the wall. I heard the crack of the wall and now I guess you could say there's a hole in the wall. It is quite remarkable, and I'm only 13 so it is very difficult for correct me. Is there any way to fix this problem?
First, how big is the "nick"? If less than 3.4 inches deep and less than 1 / 4 of an inch, I think now is the time to learn how to fix something. Then, if you are living in your home, do not try to hide from mom and dad. Be an adult, tell them what happened, then tell them you want to learn how to fix it. Even if they say "no", which will go a long way to maintain a good relationship. If you are going to try to repair it yourself, you will need some supplies at least a sanding block, a few leaves of different grades of sandpaper, a wide range of blades "putty" knife, and the repair compound. Do not worry too much about how much this will cost though. Many of these elements will be used time and again, especially if you buy are of better quality. (Even I have a knife that I bought over 20 years. And, no, I did not buy at the dollar store.) They are smaller containers of compound wall repair pre-mixed, so depending the amount you need ...... Do not buy more than you can use these things, because they dry out over time. The powder is mixed will last longer, but it is harder to make only a small batch. Back to the wall .... This work will create some dust and powder, so moving things out of the way and cover the soil with plastic sheeting. Or just cover everything with plastic. Just be prepared to get a little dust soiled yourself. Sand until the dent and surrounding area with a little sandpaper 100 grit. The compound is not going to be a shiny painted wall. (I hope that the wall is papered, because that is a story of how al.) After sanding, Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. The compound does not stick to the surface either powder. If you end up having to put several layers of compound, do not forget Sandy AFTER are appropriately dry, clean again, and then wait to be dry before proceeding.) Hopefully, the knife you have is wider than the "Nick." This will fill more easily. Set as consisting of both on the knife that will need to fill the dent, then with the knife at a slight angle, apply the compound of the area. Do not worry that all space is not filled immediately. If you need more, are more applicable to the knife. Now, from a perpendicular direction, apply additional compound. Continue applying until the area and 2-3 inches beyond the dent has a layer in place. DO NOT let go and come with the knife. Tan bad as it sounds, repetitive applications usually make it worse. Now, you have to sit until it dries completely. This may take 6 hours or more. Once dry, back to sanding dust and decisions. Make sure you use a sanding block and go over the area a couple of times until the level. If the dent is not filled, now time to clean up and go to the most complex, this time applying it to a larger area than before, "fringe" the edges smooth. Once you have repaired the dent, it is likely you want to paint. Again, make sure it is completely dry and free of dust. You have to paint some "primer" paint before proceeding.
