Connecting my Yamaha RXV-592?
hello, need help to connect this amp KEF http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1439/amplificador0041.jpg for floor speakers that have 4 of each speaker. are LF HF (BLACK) LF HF (RED) and a Mirage powered subwoofer that has 2 outputs and speaker outputs also well. im totally new to the home theater. I need help step by step to connect. ok thanks let's say I run the small cable black to black and red to red and everything just need to run a long cable to my amp? Is that correct? what is bi bi amp or cable? thanks
The four terminals of each speaker cable is if you want bi or bi amp speakers. If there are no bridges to connect the terminal may run a small piece of speaker wire from black to black and one red to red in the same speaker. Then simply connect the receiver to the speaker terminals either HF or LF. The sub, if you eat as you say, you have the line level input (S). Sounds like you have two. Just pick one and run a cable from the subwoofer output on the receiver to the sub. In case you ignore the speaker level outputs on the sub -. Edition of the wiring is correct. Biamp is boosting high and low frequencies with different amplifiers. Bi-wiring is to connect a speaker cable to the HF section and one for the LF section. By the way, you may already have metal straps connecting the HF and LF terminals. This is shown in one of the links provided.
