HD home theater system recommendations?
I want a 5.1 surround speaker system with an FM receiver and the ability to connect a games console and cable box to my HDTV. I want to be able to get 5\.1 surround sound for my TV and gaming system. Any suggestions?
NO let be a 'home theater in a box (HTIB) kit. Most of these kits do not come with a suitable recipient. Instead, they take a DVD player, push the surround sound decoder inside, and that's it. You do not have additional inputs for connecting your gaming console or anything else to it. Most receptors also have a real AM / FM in them. Some even come with an XM tuner, but still have to pay for the subscription to use it. Beyond that, all you need is something that can have an optical audio connection for surround sound, which is something that almost all receivers can market. The only significant differences between the models is the amount of amplifier power, and how many inputs they have. I recommend buying the receiver and speakers separately. You should be able to find a decent receiver for under $ 200 easily. For those who talk, do not be afraid to splurge. A good set of speakers should last a very long time - not to mention, what is the point of buying speakers if that does not sound right? I took a final set of 5.1 speakers library technology since I was a little tight on space for speakers. This set comes with 4 satellites around 3 cm wide and 7 "tall, a center channel larger, and a 10 "subwoofer downfiring - which is even powerful enough to shake the windows on the other side of my house ... For a receiver, I went with 7.1, Denon model just in case I decided to upgrade to 7.1 later. The receiver can be configured to use any mix of speakers and subwoofer you have, so that no problem. It also has an automatic setting function that uses a small microphone is placed around the room to set up speakers so that, depending on where you sit and all that. Very nice. It was $ 400, but I think you can get the same features in a model 5.1 as well.
