Remote Control / InterVideo home theater ... does not work after Batt. changing?

My victory InterVideo home theater Remote stopped working after change the batteries. The infrared light on the receiver blinks when I press the buttons, but the software itself is not responding. Ok, I've been in this place long enough to know that at least one of you knows the answer. I've been in geek sites ... if they are geeks. I think my problem was not interesting enough for them. Any help would be much appreciated

perhaps used to replace batteries that were not good.
