How I can make my home theater DVD surround sound over normal TV for me?

I have a Panasonic HT740, and everything connected to my TV and my DVD playback in the theater speakers fine, but my basic cable (there's no cable box) will not play in the theater speakers ... any ideas?

Connect your TV's audio output to the audio inputs HT740 and select that input on the sound system. Make sure your audio outputs on your TV set in a 'fixed' output to not have to turn the TV audio all the way up you hear on the envelope system. This will be in the TV menu. You may also want to activate TVs speakers. A standard analog (red and black) cable will work.
