What if the projector lamp is not good?
I have a Dukane Image Pro 8247 Projector ... just bought used, and now has a red dye in the right upper quarter of the screen (projected image), and to be honest the picture contrast and brightness is not very good ... So my question is: What could be due to the lamp? I mean is that there is a chance work better if I change the lamp? Lamp is expensive, so I will not buy if will not solve the problem.
Lamps generally only be erased (or can be left open or explosion), but should not significantly uneven shine or color is not uniform. The lack of brightness could be due to lamp aging, and poor contrast may be simply a feature of the unit (s only nominal 400:1 (although low, may be a more valid classification than many more recent projectors have inflated ratings!). It is difficult to say, but the red tint problem sounds like a panel rather than a question of the lamp. It was canceled or bottle? Perhaps one of the panels has been moved a bit .. as may cause focus / convergence issues. On the other hand, could be a panel is starting to "go". I really do not know what to suggest. If there is a counter use the lamp that can provide insight into the life of the lamp. A new lamp should certainly brighten (to 2000 lumens rating that should have plenty brightness with a good lamp!), but the question is not really red dye the user can fix, and I suspect to call the service can be expensive. Given the cost of a new lamp and a service call can not be worth ... especially considering a new projector with better specifications can be purchased for $ 1000 or less.
