Will i need a new antenna even though my TV has a ATSC tuner?
my tv has a built in Digital Tuner its a Polaroid FLM-3232. So i heard that i dont need a Digital Converter box to watch local channels. I also heard that digital channels are either a Crystal Clear picture or a black screen. And i live in houston and i dont get the channel CW and my old antenna has a electric amplifier. So do i need to buy a new antenna?
If you can get the other digital stations in Houston, you should be able to get the CW with the same antenna.
The Polaroid FLM-3232 does have a digital (ATSC) tuner built into it, so you shouldn't need a converter box. You should just be able to go into the TV's menu and have is scan for digital antenna signals.
You have to have the TV scan for digital channels (or in some cases you can directly enter the real channel number into the TV). If the KIAH-DT transmitter was down when you set up the digital channels, you have to go back in the TV's menu and have it scan again to find it. It's not like an analog tuner where a particular channnel number actually defines what frequency the signal is transmited on.
The (digital) CW is supposed to be KIAH-DT channel 39.1 (real frequency channel 38). If your TV can't find it, you might want to contact them and ask their advice.
