Blu-ray discs are superior to DVD on the following factors:
(A) Increased storage capacity of a single side 12 cm standard DVD can hold 4.7 GB of data, while the same size of a single layer Blu-ray disc can store 25 GB of data that is nearly five times higher a DVD. A dual-layer disc Blu-ray can store 50 GB DVD data.Similar we can get size mini Blu-ray also has the size of 8 cm. This mini album capacity of a single layer and can hold 7.8 GB dual layer capacity can hold 15.6 GB.
(B) Higher data transfer speed of 36 Mbps and
(C) audio and video is reproduced more clearly in comparison to a DVD.
The following are the factors that are responsible for incorporating more data on a disk Blu-ray
(A) Unlike DVDs that are dependent on red laser operating at 650 nm to read and write data, Blu-ray laser depend Blue, which operates at 405 nm. As the blue-ray laser technology with wavelength short compared to a DVD, you can integrate more data on the disk that has the same size as a DVD.
(B) The thickness of the cover layer is reduced.
(C) increased numerical aperture 0.85.

(C) BD-RW rewritable format for PC data storage.
