Sharp Blue-ray, BD hp21u firmware update?

Sharpusa site now has firmware updates. I've been waiting forever. My job well DVDs, but stopped playing Blu-ray a few months ago. It just seems to hang after the charges. I will try the firmware update today. Any other suggestions?

I bet you have a hardware problem, it is likely all laser "blue" or non-laser sensor or dirty. If it were firmware, most likely get a "firmware is not supported" screen. Not hurt to try a firmware update though. I would try absolute power reboot and see if the Blu-Ray you know have played before, play now. If they do, chances are there is a firmware problem.
