What do I need to see HDTV with a converter box?
Obviously I need an HDTV with ATSC tuner some sort. I have no cable or satellite, just good old with my DTV converter box and antenna. Local TV channels OJ in HD, just need to know how to get that signal. Thanks!
Jilly, there is much misinformation and bad advice out there on over-the-air (OTA) Digital Television. Here are the facts U.S. basic viewers: 1. First, an important definition: "digital" and "HD" is not the same thing. Many people say when mean digital HD, and that confuses things. All high-definition (HD) sources are digital, but not vice versa. "Digital includes a number of levels resolution, not only in high definition. 2. Secondly, his biggest challenge with confidence OTA reception is the antenna, and unless you are really near the TV tower transmission can be expected any indoor antenna to disappoint some, if not all local stations. That includes the best of them, including those marketed as "digital" or "HD", which is nonsense. All television antennas work the same, including those raised for 40 years.
