Do 3D projectors work as well as 3D Tv’s?
I was planning on buying a 3d tv for Christmas but I don’t have enough $ but then in amazon you se a part that says 3d projectors and my brother has a normal 1080p projector that works great. Do 3d projectors work as great as tv’s?

Ted answers:
The 3D projectors that are compatible with 3D Blu-ray are currently very expensive (they start at $5,000): http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20017374-1.html .
Now there are 3D DLP projectors that will work with NVIDIA 3D Vision, but they have to be connected to a PC that has an NVIDIA 3D graphics card, and the PC would also need to have a Blu-ray drive if you want to watch 3D Blu-rays. So you can’t view 3D on them from a standalone 3D Blu-ray player or a PS3, only a PC. They also are not 1080p projectors, this page has more info about those projectors: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html .
Prices on 3D projectors should come down eventually, and you also may be interested in waiting for polarized 3D displays to come onto the market. Polarized 3D uses passive glasses, which are very inexpensive when compared to the electronic shutter style of glasses that current 3D TVs and 3D DLP projectors and TVs use.
This is one of the first polarized 3D TVs that has been announced: http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Polarized_3D/3D_TVs/Vizio/Vizio_Will_Launch_a_65_Polarized_3D_TV_For_$3,700/5874 . Polarized projectors are in use in theaters (RealD 3D and IMAX), and should eventually make their way to consumers.

Lizzie asks…
Is *ANY* DLP-Link 3D glasses compatible with a Vivitek 3D-Ready projector?
I have a Vivitek 3D-Ready projector the D510. Are ANY DLP-Link 3D glasses compatible? Vivitek website doesn’t have a list of compatible glasses. They just keep telling me “Active” Shutter DLP-Link 3D glasses which doesn’t help because I don’t want to buy just any DLP-Link 3D glasses over the internet (Amazon, Ebay, etc.) and then I have to go through the whole process of returning it because it is not compatible with MY projector. I am trying to avoid that…
Also, couple more questions:
2. What is 3D IR? My projector has 2 options of 3D: DLP-Link and IR
3. How do I activate 3D gaming for my projector?
(I have the Sly Cooper game, My projector can do 720p, 1080i, 1080p, etc., I have the HDMI cord (high speed)-I have everything *EXCEPT* the glasses (obviously)-all I want to produce is the 3D image itself-the double image- and I can’t.)
Can someone help me?
I am completely trying to avoid buying the 3D-Gamer thing:

Donna asks…
Can any tekkies answer this question about 3D TV and Projectors…?
I have been looking into getting a 3D Cinema system. The cheapest I can get a 3D telly for is around £3,000, however i just saw on the internet a projector that is 2500 ansi lumens, 1080P, & 3D ready all for £249 (the Acer X110). On a seperate note, the Optoma HD 200X is 1080P also but does not say 3D Reay, abd has less lumens and costs arond £800! So what are you paying the extra money for??!
Thanks in advance for the answers.

Ted answers:
The Acer X110 handles a native resolution of just 800×600. The 1080p resolution is upscaled from that.
The Optoma handles the full 1080p signal.
